Our Process:

  1. Once we have received your  application and a copy of your photographic identification or drivers license details to be verified  - easy ways of forwarding this to us are shown on the application form (all Registered Tax Agents are required to hold photo identification on record for any customers to verify the applicant).  We link you to our agency with the IRD - this allows us to look at your online summary of earnings and provides the basis of the information required to check if you have a refund due.  You will receive a letter from the IRD letting you know that you have been updated to our Tax Agency.

  2. We calculate from the information you have submitted and the Summary of Earnings available online the tax you have paid, versus what you should have paid. We also look at any other rebates you may be entitled to, or expenses you can claim. From this we check which years you have credits available. At this point we will check with you regarding the credit years, if necessary. This is just to confirm the employers and any other relevant information or questions we may have.

  3. We will then submit an application for a Personal Tax Summary (or IR3) for any years that result in a refund.   Once this has been submitted we will send an email and letter to let you know what the refund should be and the timeframe you should receive the refund.  Assuming you are due a refund, the IRD will send out directly to you a copy of the Personal Tax Summary as requested by ourselves.  These are for your records so you can check what we have actioned for you.  Please note: the PTS as forwarded to you by the IRD will be the gross figure of the refund - i.e. before any fee is deducted off, so the net amount as sent in our letter will be with the fee having been deducted.

  4. We will send you an email and letter confirming the amount of your refund, or the fact that no refund is available to you.

  5. Typically within 4-7 working days, the IRD should have deposited your refund into our Trust Account (this method of payment is required by the IRD) we will deduct our fee and forward your refund to you.  You will receive a letter from the IRD letting you know your account has been updated to our Trust Account.
